Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) have gained ground in the health professions with broad implementation. ADEA’s Compendium Workgroup on EPAs has been working to develop a framework for EPAs in oral health education. As the new century for ADEA and its projects take shape for envisioning the future, the assessment approach using the EPA model helps assess readiness for independent practice and decision making. This morning’s sessions explore the implementation of EPAs in medicine, the development of the EPA framework in dentistry plus explores the strategies for implementation through the collaborative work of the North Carolina dental deans.
